Why I came to Uyo for Niger Delta Sports Festival – African Scrabble Champion

By Emeka Nwani

African Scrabble Champion, Oluwatimilehin Doko has revealed why he decided to represent Ondo State at the inaugural edition of the Niger Delta Sports Festival.

Doko noted he agreed to take part because of several reasons.

“One of them is because of the quality of Scrabble players taking part in the Festival.

“I have played some of them and it was not easy triumphing even though I am an African Champion.

“Niger Delta can boast of a rich collection of good players and by participating in the Festival, it will improve my game.

“It is an honour representing Ondo State. I am from Idanre in Ondo State and I cannot just sit down and not take part in the festival.

“I cannot quantify the lessons I will take home from the festival and I want to do my best in Uyo,” Doko said.

He became the African Master Champion in Rwanda, in October, 2024.

He is a Pharmacy graduate of the University of Lagos.
