Precious Nwadiogor on the joy of playing volleyball

By China Acheru

For Precious Nwadiogor, volleyball isn’t just a sport—it’s a source of pure joy.

Nwadiogor won volleyball gold with Rivers State at the just-concluded Niger Delta Sports Festival told NDSF media that the thrill of the game, the energy of teamwork, and the pride of victory make every moment on the court unforgettable.

“It’s really exciting to play and win,” she says with enthusiasm. “When you win, it’s like you have your shoulders up—you feel unstoppable.”

But for Precious, the beauty of volleyball goes beyond just winning.

“I enjoy the games for the team spirit,” she explains. “It’s one game that keeps us going, pushing each other to be better.”

A late start, a lasting passion

Like many young athletes, Precious discovered volleyball while in school. Despite staying focused on her studies, she made out time to dive into the sport full-time.

“I combined academics and sports at the same time, but it wasn’t easy,” she admits.

But once she stepped onto the court, she found a new kind of fulfillment. Volleyball brought her new friendships, exciting travels, and unexpected opportunities—proving that sometimes, the best things in life come when you least expect them.

More than just a game

For Precious, volleyball is about connection, energy, and pure fun. Whether she’s spiking the ball, celebrating with teammates, or learning from tough losses, every match reminds her why she loves the game.

“It’s not just about competition,” she says. “It’s about the laughter, the adrenaline, and the feeling that you’re part of something bigger.”

And that’s the real joy of volleyball—not just playing to win, but playing because it lights up your spirit.
